Elements of the coat-of-arms of the Eötvös family, dating back to the 17th century, appear on the logo of the Loránd Eötvös Geophysical Institute of Hungary (at right). The black outline in the center of the logo depicts an Eötvös balance.
A [colorless] version of the Eötvös coat-of-arms itself is showcased at the Institute. Unfortunately, the online picture is barely sufficient to tell that the arms have a quarterly design with an inescutcheon.

Eötvös de Vásáros-Námény : Écartelé: aux 1 et 4, d'argent, à un ours rampant de sable, tenant de sa patte dextre un livre ouvert, l'ours du 1 contourné; aux 2 et 3, de gueules, au lion d'or, tenant de ses pattes trois fleurs-de-lis d'argent, celui du 3 contourné. Enté en pointe de sinople à la fasce ondée d'argent. Sur le tout d'azur à un griffon d'or, brandissant une épée d'argent et surmonté d'une étoile d'or. Trois casques couronnés.
